Both Gore, who is 18 years old, and Bennett, who is 19 years old, are alums of our Academy program. Bennett captained the team and scored the winning goal in the FA Youth Cup final at Old Trafford against Nottingham Forest in 2022.

Gore played in 26 games for the Reds in the previous campaign, mostly as our Under-21 team’s captain. He most recently played in our preseason victories over Lyon and Leeds United, setting up Donny van de Beek’s game-winning goal in Scotland against the French team.

Bennett played in both our Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy seasons for United in 2022–2023, making 14 appearances. In December 2022, when we played Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, the center-back was likewise listed as a reserve.

Both players have trained with the first team under Erik ten Hag on a regular basis at Carrington, and they have undoubtedly gained more experience from this.
