Selling Osimhen will be emotional – Napoli president, De Laurentiis: The transfer of Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, will likely be more emotional than financially driven, according to club president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

A €120–130 million release clause that was allegedly added to Osimhen’s new contract in December means that he could depart the Partenopei this summer.

Along with Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain, the attacker is being pursued by Premier League heavyweights Chelsea and Arsenal.
After four outstanding seasons, De Laurentiis acknowledged it will be tough to watch the Nigerian international go the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
“Victor has a release clause. That’s a lot of money. Money is Napoli’s latest problem,” De Laurentiis said at the FT’s Football Business Summit:
“We have always made good purchases and will continue to do so in the future.
“The problem is only sentimental, because every time a player leaves it’s like saying goodbye to a child, but at the same time you’re happy even when he achieves success elsewhere.”
