As his Borussia Dortmund team became a rival to German powerhouse Bayern Munich, Klopp quickly rose to fame. They won two league titles, the German Cup, and advanced to the European Cup Final before falling to Bayern.
After resigning at the end of the 2014–15 campaign, he returned to management in a matter of months, replacing Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.
“I can understand that it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time,” Jurgen Klopp said in an interview on the website of the Premier League leaders.
In addition, the German has guided Liverpool to three Champions League finals; they have lost to Real Madrid in 2018 and 2022 and won the title in 2019.
