“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather” Ruger Declares after exiting D’Prince’s label: Nigerian musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka, well known as Ruger, has denounced fealty to “some godfather,” claiming that this year is about him.

The ‘Asiwaju’ singer made the announcement just days after leaving Jonzing World Records, which is owned by ace music entrepreneur Don Jazzy’s younger brother, D’Prince.
Ruger announced his departure from Jonzing World on Instagram on February 6, 2023, saying he was grateful to Jonzing World and D’Prince, but it was time for him to gamble on himself.

The artist formally rejected godfatherism in a new freestyle titled ‘Blownboy’ released under his personal label, Blown Boy Entertainment, declaring himself as his new master.
“I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me,” he sung in the freestyle video, which was put on his YouTube website Friday.
