Why I retired at age 32 – Hazard
Hazard, who is 32 years old, just declared his retirement from football. The Belgian, who left Real Madrid in the summer, ended his 15-year career a few days ago.
Hazard had had a challenging time at Madrid due to a string of injuries.
But in his seven years at Chelsea, from 2012 to 2019, he was a revelation, amassing 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 games for the Blues in all competitions. Breaking News: Senate confirms Ola Olukoyede as EFCC Chairman
“I always said that I would stop playing as soon as I no longer had fun on the field. I didn’t want to go play somewhere for the money.
“I didn’t enjoy training anymore… and I didn’t play anymore. The decision was simple,” Hazard told French outlet L’Avenir (via EuroFoot).
Together with Chelsea, Hazard also won two Premier League championships, two Europa Leagues, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.
