Julian Nagelsmann set to become Germany coach:  After Hansi Flick was fired from the German men’s national team due to a string of unsatisfactory performances, local media said on Tuesday that Julian Nagelsmann was almost confirmed as the team’s new coach.

According to the Reports, Nagelsmann, 36, will be in charge of the European Championship next year, which is being held in Germany.

Following his team’s 4-1 friendly loss to Japan earlier in September, Flick was fired. Thereby making history as the first Germany coach to be fired.

Also, at the World Cup in Qatar the previous year, Flick’s team was unable to go past the group stage.

Since then, Germany has dropped four of their last six games as they get ready to host Euro 2024.

Nagelsmann had taken over Flick’s position in the dugout at the defending champions of Germany. Following successful stints as coach of German teams Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, he was seen as a rising talent.

Throughout the summer, Nagelsmann’s name was brought up as a potential applicant for many elite club openings. Clubs including links to English teams Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
