Super Eagles goalkeeper Nwabali receives a greeting from LaLiga Club:  A text message wishing Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali a speedy recovery was delivered by Spanish La Liga team Cádiz ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON, round of 16 matchup with Angola on Friday.

Nwabali’s AFCON exploits were also praised by Cádiz, who called the Chippa United player the “GOAT.”

Remember when at the beginning of the competition, Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro named Nwabali his first pick, ahead of Francis Uzoho?

He was hurt after Nigeria defeated Cameroon in the AFCON last-16.

After being substituted in the 80th minute due to a potential knee injury sustained in a collision with Cameroonian forward Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, the 27-year-old was replaced by Uzoho.

“All the luck in the world for GOAT Nwabali to be recovered for Nigeria’s next round in AFCON,” the official account of Cádiz Club de Fútbol in Nigeria tweeted over the weekend.
