Since his 2019 transfer to Goodison Park, the Hale End product has thrived in any role. Iwobi was instrumental in ensuring that Everton would remain in the Premier League in the 2021–2022 season. He did this by filling in at right wingback for the late Frank Lampard.

Dyche responded that they are still working on extending the Nigerian midfielder’s time at Goodison Park when asked about the status of the contract extension negotiation.

Sean Dyche reveals that Iwobi and Everton have not yet reached a contract deal: His words to Liverpool Echo were:

“Me and [director of football Kevin Thelwell] have been speaking about the idea of being open with the agents, open with the players and fathoming out in a way that is a more open scenario – open conversations, where are we at with it, what is the truth of it, and working it all out.”

“That is just an ongoing process, not just with him but with every player whose contract has either got a renegotiation or a question mark or time-lapse.

Iwobi will begin his sixth season with the Merseyside club in today’s home match against Fulham as they kick off their Premier League campaign.

In 138 games across all leagues, he has contributed nine goals and sixteen assists to the nine-time English champions. Harry Kane signs a contract with Bayern Munich and will debut on Saturday
