Pochettino admits that he is desperate to win the Carabao Cup: Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has said that he is “desperate” to win the Carabao Cup this year.
The Blues will now play either Liverpool or Fulham in the Wembley final next month.
Pochettino, who was named Chelsea’s head coach in the summer, spent five and a half years at Tottenham without winning a title. During that time, the team lost the 2015 Carabao Cup final and the 2019 Champions League final.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager is keen to end his trophy-free streak in England.
“I am desperate to win a title here. There is your headline! We won three trophies in Paris in 18 months and we want to win here. I am desperate to win of course.
“Fulham or Liverpool are two amazing teams, so it will be difficult, but now is the moment to believe we can win. It’s an important step for us,” Pochettino said.
