Man Utd confirm goalkeeper departure: Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has  joined Sunderland on a permanent basis, ending his three and a half year stint at Old Trafford.

Bishop was 20 years old when he joined United from Southend United in January 2020, having previously played 31 times in League One for the Shrimpers across several seasons.

The goalkeeper joined United’s Under-23 squad before spending the entire season on loan at Mansfield Town in League Two in 2021/22. He departs without having played a competitive first-team game.

After reaching the Championship playoffs last season, the 23-year-old now joins Sunderland, who are aiming to return to the Premier League.
