Joelinton – Newcastle United midfielder ruled out for six weeks after aquiring a thigh injury. The 27-year-old sustained a quad injury on Saturday during the Magpies’ 3-0 FA Cup victory over Sunderland.

This season, the Brazil international has made 23 appearances, contributing four assists and three goals.
On Saturday at 17:30 GMT, Newcastle takes on Manchester City in the Premier League at St. James’ Park.
Joelinton is now the 11th player on Howe’s team to miss a significant amount of time due to injury thus far this season.
“Joelinton is such an important player. He has a problem with his tendon in his quad,” said Howe.
“He is very disappointed, he wants to play and do well.”
Joelinton’s substitution at the 47-minute mark helped Newcastle, currently ninth in the Premier League, snap their bad run of results against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Howe added that the club was feeling the impact of Financial Fair Play regulations in the wake of Newcastle’s £73 million loss for the 2022–2023 season.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund acquired the Magpies in October 2021, although CEO Darren Eales cautioned that they might still need to sell players to their competitors.
