Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke wins Premier League player of the month: After five and a half seasons in the premier league, the 26-year-old becomes the first player from the Cherries to ever win the trophy.

Dominic Solanke scored six goals in six games during a fantastic December.

This included his first-ever professional hat-trick in a thrilling 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest.

As Cherries started a five-game unbeaten streak, Solanke also scored in wins over Fulham and Manchester United in addition to scoring in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.

The former England international contributed to the win at Crystal Palace as well, but the month ended with a loss at Tottenham Hotspur.

Supporters and an expert panel cast their votes for Solanke, who defeated seven other finalists to take home the prize.

They included Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur, Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool, and Marcos Senesi, his Cherries colleague.

The shortlist also included Michael Olise (Crystal Palace), Mohammed Kudus (West Ham United), and Matheus Cunha (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
