Davido congratulates Tyla after Grammy Award loss:  South African artist Tyla has received congratulations from Davido, the Afrobeats superstar from Nigeria, for winning the Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Despite losing the award to the South African musician, Davido celebrated Tyla on his X profile (previously Twitter).

“Amapiano” by Asake and Olamide, “City Boys” by Burna Boy, “Unavailable” by Davido featuring Musa Keys, and “Rush” by Ayra Starr are all surpassed by Tyla’s song “Water.”

“Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa!” tweeted Davido.Big One for africa! Keep soaring!”

The “Unavailable” songwriter and fellow countryman Burna Boy were defeated by Shakti in the Best Global Album category.

With their album “This Moment,” the globe fusion group triumphed over releases by Davido, Burna Boy, and others.
