Since joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and leaving the La Liga team, Messi has been often linked to a return to the league. But rather of going back to the Nou Camp this summer, he decided to sign with Inter Miami.
There is once again a chance that Messi may return to Barcelona on loan. Just as the Major League Soccer season draws to a close.
However, because of Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties, the transfer has been ruled off.

Romeu is optimistic that Messi would receive an homage in front of the Barcelona supporters once Camp Nou reopens.
“The only thing I would like, and the day and time will surely come, when the circumstances are favourable, is that we can pay him a great tribute,” he told L’Esportiu.
“He deserves it and we’re really looking forward to it.
“The rest is a matter of speculation, we don’t even talk about this subject, because we have already talked about it too many times.”
