Manchester City inform Bernardo Silva of transfer decision: Manchester City are prepared to stand firm in the face of Bernardo Silva’s wish to go and have informed the Portuguese international that they do not want to sell him this summer, according to 90min. EnoughInfo.com

Manchester City Inform Bernardo Silva Of Transfer Decision

Silva notified City last summer that he wanted to go elsewhere after being courted by Barcelona. However, no agreement was reached because the club asked him to stay for at least another season.

The former Monaco starman stayed and had another excellent season for the Cityzens as they completed a historic treble. However, Silva has made it obvious through his representatives that he would want the opportunity to go and has sparked significant interest.

Despite the rich nature of the contract, Silva is uninterested in a hefty offer from Saudi Arabia to join Al-Hilal. Long-term suitors Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, though, are both interested in speaking with him and exploring a deal. Andre Onana explains why he chose the 24 shirt at Man Utd

Barcelona would want to sign Silva, and insiders have told 90min that if the funds were available, they would have done it by now. While they remain interested, the Catalans’ chances of putting together a deal acceptable to City appear unlikely at this point. Raul Jimenez of Wolves will go to Fulham for £5.5 million

And then there’s PSG. Luis Enrique, the club’s new head coach, has made it known to his bosses that he wants Silva, and the club’s football advisor, Luis Campos, has already met with both Silva and City. They have notified their European champions that they are willing to meet their asking price, which is thought to be approximately £75 million. However, that may not be enough to close the transaction.

The talks with City have stalled, and the English have held their own discussions with Silva. They are sending a clear message that they cannot afford to lose him this summer. Pep Guardiola has a history of letting go of players who want to leave, including Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, and most recently Riyad Mahrez.

But Silva’s circumstance is different, and Guardiola is emphatic that he does not want him to leave, especially considering the departure of Mahrez and the earlier loss of club captain Ilkay Gundogan. They have already signed Mateo Kovavic from Chelsea, but it is believed that Silva is too difficult to replace.

90min understands that City have looked at other midfield options, including Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella. However, neither appears to be available, making the need to keep Silva even more essential.  CEO of OpenAI Launches the Worldcoin Crypto Project
