Spain judge proposes Rubiales go on trial for World Cup kiss: Disgraced former Spanish football boss Luis Rubiales was suggested to stand trial by a Spanish judge on Thursday due to his forced kiss on Women’s World Cup standout Jenni Hermoso.

In addition, he suggested placing three more people on trial for allegedly pressuring Hermoso, 33, “to make a public statement confirming the kiss was consensual”: RFEF marketing chief Ruben Rivera, men’s team director Albert Luque, and former women’s coach Jorge Vilda.
The judge has also looked at all three of them.
In the live event on August 20, following Spain’s victory over England in the Women’s World Cup final in Australia, Rubiales grabbed Hermoso’s head with both hands and gave her a forceful peck on the lips.
Hermoso has maintained that the act was not consensual, despite his description of it as so.
She sued Rubiales, 46, in September and stated in court earlier this month that she felt compelled to stand up for him when they were traveling back from Australia and then going on a team vacation to Ibiza, Balearic Islands.
“Constant harassment by the parties under investigation, which disrupted her normal life, causing her anxiety and distress,” the witness claimed in her evidence.
A non-consensual kiss may fall under the criminal category of sexual assault in Spain, which encompasses all forms of sexual abuse.
A fine or four years in jail are the possible penalties for such a kiss.
