In reaction to the brutal atrocities that the Palestinian Islamist organisation Hamas carried out in 20 Israeli villages over the weekend—during which dozens of hostages were also taken—Israel is getting ready to invade Gaza on foot. Following the arrival of the first US jet filled with bombs in Israel on Wednesday night, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken touched down in Tel Aviv on Thursday as part of a Middle East visit intended to demonstrate Washington’s support for Israel.
