INEC presents certificates to winners of Saturday’s rerun, bye-election: Senators and members of the House of Representatives who prevailed in the bye and rerun elections conducted last Saturday were given certificates of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The National Commissioners for the states that the senator or member of the house of representatives represents delivered the certificates.
Last Saturday, INEC held bye and rerun elections in 80 Local Government Areas spread over 26 states.
Elections were held to replace vacancies caused by resignation, death, and court orders in three senatorial districts, seventeen federal constituencies, and twenty-eight state constituencies.

Three senators and fifteen recently elected members of the House of Representatives have been in attendance.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has seven members, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has five, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has three, and the Labour Party (LP) has one of the fifteen newly elected members of the House of Representatives.
Two senators represent the APC, while one represents the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
