De Rossi replaces sacked Mourinho at Roma FC:  After Jose Mourinho was fired, Daniele De Rossi, a man with little coaching experience, was named the new head coach of Roma, the Serie A team announced on Tuesday.

Earlier today Fabrizio Romano revealed the person that was going to be Mourinho’s Replacement.

The 40-year-old former midfield player for Italy is making a comeback to the team that played for nearly his whole playing career—his hometown.

Roma released a statement saying, “AS Roma are pleased to confirm that Daniele De Rossi has been appointed as head coach until 30 June 2024.”

After a poor third season in the Italian city, Mourinho was abruptly fired on Tuesday morning. De Rossi assumed leadership of Roma shortly after.

After spending less than a season in Argentina, he concluded his playing career at Boca Juniors in early 2020.

His tenure at SPAL last season lasted just four months, and the squad was demoted to the third division of Serie C. As a result, he has limited coaching experience.

After losing 3-1 against AC Milan on Sunday, Roma is currently five points off of the Champions League spots in ninth place in Serie A.
